Meant to meet but not meant to be

It’s a universal experience but oftentimes the realisation of its importance is delayed.
You’re walking on a path called life and as expected there are unprecedented turns and twists and falls.
One path links to another like tributaries flowing into a river all swelling and flowing.
These countless paths are all intertwined, in obvious and inconspicuous ways. A series of seemingly random cause and effect that is, in fact, merely life’s orderly chaos.
Amidst this chaos, here you stand on a single strip of land.
Then you reach an intersection and you meet others.
There will be a multitude of intersections in life yet you can’t change the fact that some people will stay and some will go.
You can’t hold onto what wasn’t meant to be but you can learn from those you were meant to meet.
